Vicksburg Police arrest man on warrant for drug possession

Vicksburg police Thursday arrested a man on a warrant charging him with possession of methamphetamine, Capt. Sandra Williams said.
Stacy Bester, 38, was arrested about 7:30 a.m. in the 1200 block of Second North St. The warrant for Bester was the result of an undercover drug operation. He was being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.
In other cases:
• No one was injured in a reported drive-by shooting early Thursday morning in the 1300 block of South Street in which shots were fired into an occupied home. The incident was reported about 2:30 p.m.
• A Savage Model 110 7mm rifle and scope and a Ruger 9mm handgun with a total value of $1,200 were reported stolen about 8 a.m. Wednesday from a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pickup parked at the Bradford Apartments 310 Cane Ridge Road.
• A 32-inch Sony TV and a 42-inch TV were reported stolen about 11:30 a.m. from a home in the 80 block of Chickasaw Road.
• Police are continuing their investigations into burglaries at the Vicksburg Country Club, 127 Country Club Drive, and the Park Residences at Bienville, on North Frontage Road that occurred Jan. 31.
The burglary at the Park Residences occurred about 7:45 a.m. Jan. 31, Williams said. Three key boxes, a door and doorknob with lock were broken, and a pair of coveralls valued at $100 and a camo bag were reported taken.
The country club burglary was reported about 10 a.m. Someone broke into a storage shed, taking 100 practice golf balls, eight sets of golf clubs and a pair of golf shoes.
Sheriff’s office arrests warren county man
A Warren County man who left a Jackson restitution center was arrested Wednesday in Vicksburg. David William Stewart, 22, 1171 Burnt House Road, was found and arrested after the Warren County Sheriff’s Office was notified of his escape by the Mississippi Department of Corrections, Sheriff Martin Pace said. At 10 p.m. Wednesday, Sgt. Jeff Harrell of the WCSO tracked Stewart to a home on Lee Street where he was arrested and taken to the Warren County Jail. He awaited transport from the MDOC Thursday.
