Funeral services for Ruth E Sims will be Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Mount Pilgrim M. B. Church of Freetown with the Rev. Dr. John H. Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sims passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at Shady Lawn Nursing and Rehab of Vicksburg surrounded by family. She was 89.

She was a homemaker and member of the Mount Pilgrim M. B. Church, where she was a member of the choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Vallie Nichols Hebron; her husband, Johnnie Sims Sr.; her three brothers, Walter Hebron, Charlie Hebron Jr. Leon Hebron and Elbert Hebron; four sisters, Minnie Jones, Ollie Mae Sims, Lizzie Peaches and Viola Sims.

She is survived by her three sons, Johnnie Sims Jr., James Lee Sims and Bobby Earl Sims, all of Vicksburg; her six daughters, Johnnie Mae Tucker, Ruby Anderson, JoAnn Walker, Betty Anderson, Annie Sims and Darlene Sims, all of Vicksburg; her sister, Artimease Clayton of Vicksburg; 25 grandchildren, 53 great- grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
