David L. Dick

Capt. David L. Dick passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, at Merit Health River Region. He was 83.
Born in Vicksburg, he was the son of the late Lawson N. Dick and Olivia A. Lord.
He is survived by his spouse, Brenda Zachow; his son, Chris Dick of Flowood; his daughter, Julie Lawson Dick of Vicksburg; his brother, Douglas Dick of Vicksburg; two sisters, Jean Sellers of Crozet, Va. and Carolyn Spiers of Orange, Texas; and two grandchildren, Olivia Dick and David Dick III.
He served as a riverboat captain for 60 years, also serving in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Special thanks to his lifelong friend, Lee Evans for being a running buddy through the years.
Honorary Pallbearers are Lee Evans, Mr. Gillis, Dan Bonner and Mike Bonner. Graveside Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at Cedar Hills Cemetery. Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
