Vicksburg police are looking for a man accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.
Police Capt. Sandra Williams said a warrant has been issued for Jeremy Dixon, 24, of Vicksburg, charging him with statutory rape involving a girl under the age of 16.
“We have put him in the NCIC (National Crime Information Center) as a wanted man,” she said.
Williams said the incident occurred about 2:30 p.m. Monday, adding the girl went to the police station to report the sexual assault. She was taken to Merit Health River Region for treatment.

Woman charged with credit card fraud
In another case, Kristie Barber, 35, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of credit card fraud involving the use of another person’s credit card, Williams said.
She said a man left his wallet at Advance Auto on Halls Ferry Road and Barber, a former employee at the store, took the credit card and went on a shopping spree. Barber was arrested at the Vicksburg Police Station.
She was being held without bail in the Issaquena County Correction Facility.
