Funeral services for Sammie L. Davis Sr. begin at noon Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Calvary M.B. Church. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home in charge. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. today at the funeral home, and on Saturday at the church from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.

Davis died Feb. 22, 2017, at the V.A. Medical Center in Temple, Texas. He was 79.
