Willard Richard Landers, 88, of Vicksburg, passed away March 3, 2017, at Merit Health River Region.

Born in Carpenter, he lived in Utica since 1987.

He served in the Air Force and was a member of Utica Baptist Church in Utica.

He is preceded in death by his father, Samuel Matthew Landers Sr.; mother, Mary Ivey Landers; sister, Mary Louis McMahon; and two brothers, Samuel Matthew Landers Jr. and Edward Morris Landers.

He is survived by his wife, Mavis Landers of Utica; one son, Kenneth “Kenny” (Kim) Landers of Utica; two daughters, Diana Landers of Ellisville and Carol (Gerald) Bethany of Vicksburg; two brothers, Harvey Landers of Utica and Charles Landers of Vicksburg; six grandchildren, Keith(Laura)Bethany, Holly R. (Curt) Battle, Kyle (Dayna) Landers, Kristen (Clell) Allred, Wayne ( Penny) Bethany and Gerald W. Bethany, Jr.; and 11 great-grandchildren Carson Bethany, Abigail Battle, Adella Battle, Kylan Landers, Easton Landers, Savannah Cupit, Mary Clell Allred, Austin Bethany, Caleb Bethany, Sarah Hoxie and Christopher Haney.

Service will be Monday, March 6, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Glenwood Chapel with the Rev. Rocky Henriques and Rev. Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.

Pallbearers will be Kelly, Ralph, Kyle, Sammy and Greg Landers, Eugene Cole, Buddy Bridges and Keith Bethany.
