Funeral services for Moses James will be Friday, March 24, in the Chapel of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Elbert Cox officiating.
Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Funeral Home.
Moses James passed away Friday, March 17, at Merit Health River Region following a lengthy illness. He was 83.
He was a former truck driver and was a member of the Jones Chapel M. B. Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warner and Elizabeth Coleman James; and his two brothers, Willie James and David James.
He is survived by his son, Moses Hamberlin of Milwaukee, Wis.; two grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Ruthie Mae James of Vicksburg; his niece, Mary Ann Cook of Vicksburg; nephews, Harvey James of Tallulah, La., Robert James and Alexander James, both of Vicksburg; his great niece, Vanessa Cooper of Round Rock, Texas; great nephew, Eddie Cook Jr. of Vicksburg; and a host of others, including Milton Jones, Willie Henry Smith , Frank Brown, Wanda Brown and Helena Williams, all of Vicksburg.
