Warren Central tennis remains undefeated

Warren Central’s tennis team had its closest call so far, but kept its record perfect.
The Vikings swept the four doubles points and edged Madison-St. Joseph 4-3.

The girls doubles teams of Lauren Davis and Olivia White, and Amanda Boleware and Skylar Gibson won 6-4, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-1, respectively.

In boys doubles, Grayson Parman and John Robert Jabour won 6-3, 6-2 and the team of Jack Richardson and Asher Carson won 6-1, 6-2.

“The four matches we won weren’t very close, and we’ve been waiting on our boys doubles to be the success they were today,” Warren Central coach Jeff Pilgrim said. “I think our team has been continually getting better, but today looked like a big jump forward.”

The Vikings improved to 7-0 in the first of four matches this week. They’ll host Vicksburg Thursday and Grenada Friday, both at 4 p.m. On Saturday they’ll play against Vicksburg, St. Aloysius and Madison-St. Joseph in the annual Julie Abraham Memorial Tournament beginning at 9 a.m. All three matches are at Halls Ferry Park.
