James Clifford Guimbellot passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Merit Health River Region.  He was 77. 

He was a native of Epps, La., and had been a resident of Vicksburg since childhood.    He was the son of the late James B. and Bessie Wicker Guimbellot.  He was a graduate of Carr Central High School and Mississippi College.  He retired in 2015 from Bechtel Power Corp., where he enjoyed his many opportunities to travel abroad.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, J. Herman Guimbellot; and a sister, Brenda Kay Davis. 

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Guimbellot; his children, M. Shane Guimbellot (Maura Johnson-Guimbellot) of Cincinnati, Carla Jamison (Dwayne) of Vicksburg, Danea Guimbellot-Polk (Max) of Edwards, Dr. Jennifer Guimbellot (Dr. Sam Dalvi) of Birmingham, Ala., and Tony Lobred (Janet) of Vicksburg; grandchildren, Claire Jamison, Madelyn Polk, Miette Guimbellot, Joshua Jamison, Jordan Polk, Sara Jane Dalvi, Willa Beth Dalvi and Benjamin Lobred; and sister, Janie Daughtry (Pat) of Vicksburg.

Services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 16, at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Burch officiating. 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. 

Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Dwayne Jamison, Max Polk, Sam Davi, Pat Daughtry, Rick Daughtry and Paul Jamison.
