Donald “D.J.” Carra

Donald Carra left the earth to be with our Lord Fathers Day, June 10, 2017.

He was loved by his family, friends, housemates and co-workers at The River City Rescue Mission, where he lived and worked diligently as receptionist and dispatcher for three years. He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, baptized into faith by Brother Kent Campbell.

He was born in Chicago, Oct. 16, 1969. He grew up in Cicero, Ill., and moved to Corinth in his late teens.

He was a fun-loving person that everyone loved. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and being outdoors.

He is survived by his son, Dakota from Florida; his sisters, Melissa (Joe) Felks of Burnsville and Lynn (Tracy) Roach of Corinth; brother, Robert Hurst of Corinth; mother, Betty Hurst of Corinth; father, James Carra of Calif.; nephews, Cody (Star) Felks and Case Roach; nieces, Meg and Madison Roach; and great niece, Ava Lynn Felks.

Preceding in death was an infant brother, Matthew Carra; maternal grandparents, Cecil and Birdie Odom; and stepfather, Robert Hurst.

A Memorial service will be held at River City Rescue Mission Chapel Friday, July 7 at 2 p.m. Please omit flowers.
