David Ray Williams Jr., 8, passed away July 16, 2017, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

He was born and lived most of his life in Vicksburg.

He is preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Charles and Betty Greer; aunt, Michelle Vega; and sister, Sophia Williams.

He is survived by mother, Ashley (Chase Bowlin) Peay of Vicksburg; father, David Ray (Skylar) Williams Sr. of Vicksburg; paternal grandfather, Donnie Whitehead of Vicksburg; paternal grandmother, Trina Williams of Vicksburg; paternal great-grandmother, Patricia Sherwood of Vicksburg; maternal grandmother, Kathy Peay of Vicksburg; maternal grandfather, Mike (Gail) Peay of Big Sandy, Tenn.; maternal great-grandparents Jesse and Hilda Peay of Cary; two brothers, Roman LaSalle of Vicksburg and Patrick Williams of Vicksburg; three sisters, Alana Williams Emma Emerson and Kaelynn Williams, all of Vicksburg; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

D.J. will be truly missed by many, but in the end he gave the ultimate gift of life by being an organ donor.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2017, at the Glenwood Chapel in Vicksburg. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Michael Peay, Devin Vega, Joey Greer, Ryan Peay, Trey Lawrence, Jason Vega, Charlie Lee and Joey Miller; honorary pallbearers will be Ernesto Crespo, Ricky Alexander Jr., Bubba Lawrence, Wesley White, Brady Bowlin and the LaSalle family.
