James Brown

Funeral services for James Brown will be Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Greater Grove Street M. B. Church at noon with the Rev. Dr. Casey D. Fisher officiating.

Interment will follow under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home

Visitation is Monday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Brown passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at Select Hospital of Jackson following a brief illness. He was 72.

He had worked as a maintenance engineer and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Bessie Thomas Brown.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Parker of Atlanta; his four brothers, Charlie Brown, Darryl Brown and Herbert Brown, all of Vicksburg, and Edward Brown Jr. of New Orleans; his four sisters, Mary Brown Marshall of Vicksburg, Patricia Brown Hayes of Mobile, Ala., Sadie Brown Williams of Calumet City, Ill., and Rose Brown Williams of Albion, Mich.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and others.
