Memorial service for Mrs. Geraldine McClurg of Delta, La., will be held on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Tallulah, La. Pastor Jason McGuffie celebrant.  Arrangements are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home, West Monroe, La.

Mrs. McClurg was born Oct. 7, 1949, in Holly Ridge, La., and passed from this life surrounded by her loving family at 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe at the age of 67. 

She married her husband, Wendell Duane McClurg on Aug. 13, 1977, and was a long-time resident of Delta, La., where she has lived since 1990. She loved to cook and share a meal with family and friends. She is known by many as Mamaw Dean. She was a one of a kind lady, second to none.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Francis Mathis and her three siblings; James Mathis, Jr., Cynthia Brinson and Elaine Melton.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 40 years, Wendell Duane McClurg; her children, James (Teresa) Sheller of Vicksburg, Pamela (Arthur) Luttig of Richland Center, Wisc., Sarah J. Mathis of Madison, Dana (Michael) Terry of Frisco, Texas and Mary Ellen (Barry Wells) Thomas of Frisco, Texas;  her grandchildren, Jennifer Lipe, Kayla Counts, Kelsey Counts, John Darby Luttig, Abigail Luttig, Corbin Luttig, Bailey Manbey, Peyton Manbey, Savannah Thomas, Gage Thomas. Great-Grandchildren, Kody White, Kylie White and Tomi Krisztian; her siblings, Dorothy Jane Johnston (James) of Doyline, La., Shelia Thomas of Monroe, La., Jeanette Edwards, Joann Campbell and Judy (Bo) Josey of Tallulah, La., Steve Mathis of Eldorado, Ark., Kenneth (Elma) Mathis of Marrietta, Ga., and Sam Mathis of Tallulah, La.; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
