Lynda Lewise Peets Posey, 68, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sept. 2, 2017, at her home after battling cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones.

A graveside service will be Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at 2 p.m. in Wesson at her family cemetery, 2046 Jackson Liberty Road, Wesson 39191.

She was born April 1, 1949, to Billy Peets, and Lewise Harrington Peets. She was raised in Brookhaven until moving to Vicksburg in 1973.

She was employed by city of Vicksburg Gas Department and retired in 2006. Lynda devoted life to her family and friends and was loved by all who knew her. She was a favorite friend of the BHS Class of 1967.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Cathy Peets Jobin and Dusty Peets.

She is survived by a daughter, Jenny Laird Hynum (Marc); and a son Robby Laird (Bridgette); and grandchildren, Blake Hynum (Bridget) of Richland, Austin Hynum (Kristen) of Vicksburg and Cohen Laird of Brookhaven; and great-grandchildren, Easton Hynum, Wyatt Hynum of Vicksburg, Mckenzie Ferguson and Blake Ferguson of Richland; a sister, Sue Peets of Richland, sister-in-law, Jennifer Peets of Wesson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
