Charles M. “Charlie” Marshall

Charles Marion “Charlie” Marshall died Saturday, Sept. 9, at The Bluffs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Vicksburg. He was 70 years old. 

Mr. Marshall was born in Vicksburg on March 6, 1947 to the late Lee Carlton Marshall and Veronica Downey Marshall. He was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School and served in the 114th Military Police, Mississippi Army National Guard. He retired from International Paper Company after 36 years of service as a pipefitter/welder. Mr. Marshall was an active member and communicant of St. Michael Catholic Church and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 898.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by two sisters, Vera Marshall Brown and Eleanor Marshall Bagby; a son-in-law, Matthew Peters; a niece, Nancy Bagby Smith; and great-nieces, Laina Bagby and Christina Francis.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa McCaffrey Marshall; his son, Michael T. Marshall (Angela); his daughter, Catherine M. Peters; four grandchildren, Timothy Marshall, Lauren Marshall, Logan Marshall and Addison Marshall, a great-grandson, Caden Marshall; his brother, Lee C. Marshall, Jr.(Sherry); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at St. Michael Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Gardens. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service with Knights of Columbus prayers beginning at 10:45 a.m. The Fourth Degree Members of Knights of Columbus, Council 898 will be honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
