A recap of how college football and NFL players from Vicksburg-area high schools did in games played over the weekend:

• Alcorn State wide receiver Tavares Johnson, Jr. (Vicksburg High) caught six passes for 44 yards and a touchdown in a 17-10 loss to Florida International.

• Central Arkansas safety Michael Ware (Warren Central) had four solo tackles in a 41-13 win over Murray State.

• Cornell College (Iowa) running back Patrick Brown (Vicksburg High) caught one pass for 21 yards in a 59-21 loss to Coe College.

• Grambling linebacker De’Arius Christmas (Warren Central) had five total tackles and one tackle for loss in a 23-10 victory over Northwestern State.

• Delta State cornerback Devontae Wilson (Warren Central) had four tackles in a 42-13 win over Chowan.

• New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler (Vicksburg High) had four solo tackles in a 42-27 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night.
