Mrs. Blackwell was born in Vicksburg on Jan. 9, 1947, to James W. and Rachel Pickett Beason.

For more than 27 years, she was co-owner of Blackwell’s Kwik Pik, located on Highway 397.  She loved working in her yard, spending time with her family, and taking care of her grandchildren.

Mrs. Blackwell is survived by her daughter, Stacie VanLandingham and husband, Barry; her son, Chris Blackwell and wife, Bridgette, all of Louisville; and her sister, Debbie Bullock and husband, Brad, of Tupelo.

One of her greatest joys was being “grandma” to her four grandchildren; Sophie and Blaine VanLandingham, Ashley Malone, and Mackenzie Blackwell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis G. Blackwell; and her parents.

Services are under the direction of Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Ave., Louisville.
