Two injured in Monday morning wreck
Two people were transported to Merit Health River Region following a two-car wreck on North Frontage Road Monday morning at 10:31.
Vicksburg Police officer Lt. Leonce Young said Linda Carwell, who was driving a Mercury Milan, was stopped waiting to make a left hand turn into the Corner Market parking lot to go to work.
She was rear-ended by a Hyundai Accent driven by Kersey Young, who Young said failed to yield the right-of-way.
Carwell and Kersey Young were both taken to River Region.
“He (Kersey Young) couldn’t really move,” Officer Young said. “I don’t know if he’s got any kind of serious injuries. I will find that out when I get to the hospital. Mrs. Carwell was complaining of leg and back pains. She was also taken to the hospital.”
Officer Young said Kersey Young will be issued a citation for failing to yield the right-of-way.
