Lenora Cross

Lenora Cross’ earthly journey began on Sept. 8, 1940, in Vicksburg where she accepted Yahweh as her personal savior at the First Assembly of Yahweh.
Lenora attended school at Bowman High School.
She retired from Cooper Lighting, also formerly known as Crouse-Hinds, in Vicksburg where she we worked faithfully for 35 years.
Lenora’s journey on this earth ended on Sept. 7, 2017, at Merit Health River Region when the angels of heaven reached out their arms to her and told her to come home and continue to rest peacefully. She was 76 years old.
Lenora was preceded in death by her parents, Conway Calvin Sr. and Geneva Calvin; her husband, Hazzy Cross Sr.; a half-sister, Mary Calvin; three brothers, Conway Calvin Jr., J.D. Calvin, and J.P. Calvin; and two half-brothers, Robert Calvin and Bennie Dotson.
Lenora leaves to cherish her memories; one son, Hazzy Cross Jr. of Vicksburg; one sister, Geneva Williams of Vicksburg; two brothers, Dillard (Laverne) Calvin of Moss Point, and A. J. Calvin of Denver, Colorado; one half-brother, Burrell (Birdie) Calvin of Venecia, California; four grandchildren; Lenatra Eastman, Tenita Cross, Tressa Cross, and Kevin Cross all of Vicksburg and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Arrangements are entrusted to C.J. Williams Mortuary Services, LLC, 4310 Halls Ferry Road. Service will be held Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Great Grove M.B. Church, 2715 Alcorn Drive, with the Rev. Dr. Casey Fisher officiating. Burial will be at Beech Grove Cemetery on Burnt House Road.
Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at C.J. Williams Mortuary Services, LLC.
