Mutual Credit Union, along with more than 56,000 credit unions around the world, will celebrate International Credit Union Day (ICU Day) on Oct. 19, and the philosophy and achievements of the credit union movement.
Along with complimentary refreshments in all five branches, Mutual Credit Union will be donating $4,000 in funds to area charities. Each branch of Mutual Credit Union has selected an organization to support with donation amounts of $250, $500, $750, $1,000, and $1,500, and members of the credit union and the public are invited to vote in an online poll to determine the charity that will receive the largest donation. The poll is now available to voters until Oct. 15, and checks will be presented to the charities on Oct. 19, International Credit Union day.
The charities to receive donations in yet to be determined amounts are Credit Unions 4 Kids – Children’s Miracle Network Batson Hospital, PAWS Animal Rescue, Catch a Dream Foundation, Community Animal Rescue & Adoption (CARA), and the Boys and Girls Club of the Mississippi Delta.
Mutual Credit Union celebrates ICU Day because it believes the not-for-profit structure and people-first principles of credit unions make them the ideal financial partners for all people. This year’s ICU Day theme is “Dreams Thrive Here,” a celebration of how credit unions help people achieve their biggest goals in life.
The public is welcome to stop by any branch location and celebrate with Mutual Credit Union a worldwide movement that’s made helping people its No. 1 priority for more than 160 years.
