Major General Thomas O. Logue Jr.

RIDGELAND — Maj. Gen. Thomas O. Logue Jr. of Ridgeland, passed away Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, at the age of 84.

He was born in Vicksburg on Oct. 18, 1932, to Odette and Thomas Logue. Tom graduated high school in Vicksburg, received his MBA from the University of Southern Mississippi, and his Ph.D. from Ole Miss. Additionally, one of his greatest achievements was becoming an Eagle Scout.

Tom proudly served his country by enlisting during the Korean War and officially obtained the rank of general before his retirement.

Tom married Joyce Wilson on Dec. 18, 1965. He worked as a hospital CEO for 35 years and spent 15 years helping veterans receive their military benefits in Madison County.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; his daughters, Toni Dickerson (J.R.), Linda Carson; and daughter in law Judy Logue followed by grandchildren, Alan LaGrone, Anthony LaGrone, Wil Carson, Matthew Logue, Rachel Carson, Jonathan Logue and Joseph Logue; and 7 great-grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his brother, Otis Logue; son, Thomas E. Logue; and his parents.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday at First Methodist Church of Madison with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. The burial will take place at Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
