Pedestrian killed in Hwy 80 accident

A pedestrian died after being hit by a car on Highway 80 Sunday morning.
Mississippi Highway Patrol public affairs officer Cpl. Kervin Stewart said Edwin Brown, 41, of Vicksburg died from his injuries after being hit by a 2009 Chevy Malibu around 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
Stewart said the car was traveling eastbound on Highway 80 when the car struck Brown who was in the roadway near Amberleaf Drive.
Brown was originally transported to Merit Health River Region, but was later transferred to University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Stewart said he was unsure if Brown died during the transfer or once he arrived at UMMC.
No charges were filed against the driver following the accident.
