Briarfield Academy soared into the MAIS 8-Man playoffs, beating Franklin Academy 34-0 on Friday night to cap off the regular season and lock down a wild card berth.

Holt Martin and Grayson Parker each ran for two touchdowns, and Martin threw a touchdown pass for Briarfield (8-2, 6-1 District E-2). Parker finished with 99 rushing yards, and Martin had 81 on only six carries. Kyle Moody had seven tackles on defense.

Briarfield earned the No. 3 seed in the eight-team 8-Man bracket and drew a tough assignment in round one. It will host two-time defending state champion Tallulah Academy (7-4) next Friday night. Briarfield won 58-18 when the teams played on Sept. 22, but Tallulah won four of its next five games after that.
