BRANDON —Pat Lee Owen Jr., age 70, of Brandon died peacefully on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on Nov. 24, 1946, Pat graduated from Cooper High School in Vicksburg and Mississippi State University, where he was a member of KA fraternity.
He enjoyed a long career in insurance sales and private piloting in Jackson.
Pat was an avid and talented golfer and a devoted MSU Bulldog fan his entire adult life. He and his family were regularly seen tailgating at home games in Starkville.
Pat was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Koestler Raworth and his father, Pat Lee Owen Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Nutt Owen; daughter, O’Hara Marie Owen and her children, Owen Ezell, Addy Ezell, and Anderson Ezell, all of Brandon; son, Lee Koestler Owen (Kate Wilson) and their three children, Lela Magee, Jane Koestler and Cecilia all of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; son, Layden Noel Owen (Allison Ladner) and their son, Jack Wesley, all of Long Beach; a sister, Kitty Owen Knoedler, of San Antonio; and a brother, Johnny Owen of Vicksburg.
Friends are invited to visitation with the family after 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3rd at St. Paul Catholic Church, 5989 Hwy 25 (Lakeland Drive), Brandon 39232, where the Funeral Mass will begin at 2 p.m., Father Gerald Hurley, celebrant.
Sebrell Funeral Home of Ridgeland is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to Mississippi State University Athletics.
