Five people were injured when two cars collided head-on on Fisher Ferry Road south of its intersection with Grange Hall Road Wednesday evening, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.
The wreck occurred about 6 p.m. Wednesday, when a northbound 2013 Honda Odyssey van driven by Karen Runnels, 54, collided with a southbound 2000 Ford Ranger pickup driven by Pattie Brown, 18.
Runnels and Brown were both taken to Merit Health River Region, where they were treated at the hospital emergency room and released. A 16-year-old boy who was a passenger in the van was not injured, Pace said.
A 5-year-old girl who was a passenger in the truck was also taken to River Region, where her condition was unavailable. Another passenger in the truck identified as a 19-year-old woman, was taken to University of Mississippi Medical Center, where her condition was unavailable, and a 34-year-old man who was also a passenger in the truck was not injured.
The wreck remains under investigation.
