Shooting suspect gets $1 million bond during court appearance Friday

A man accused and charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault following a Monday morning shooting was given a $1 million bond during his initial appearance in Judge Toni Terrett’s courtroom Friday.

Jalin Hargrove, 21, was transported to Warren County Jail pending a grand jury hearing following his initial appearance Friday, Vicksburg Police investigator Curtis Judge said.

Hargrove is charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault after allegedly shooting a 20-year-old man Monday morning. Hargrove, 21, turned himself in at the Vicksburg Police Department about 1 p.m. Thursday. Police had issued a warrant accusing him of armed robbery and aggravated assault in the shooting, which occurred about 12:16 a.m. Monday.

Officers responding to a call about a reported aggravated assault and attempted robbery involving a 20-year-old man arrived to find the man sitting in a white 2006 Nissan Armada with multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen, side and head.

The victim was transported to Merit Health River Region in stable condition after the shooting.
