Two Vicksburg businesses broken into

Electronics and tools were reported taken about 8:32 a.m. Monday from two businesses at 3300 Indiana Ave., Vicksburg police Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said.
An LG tablet, hammer, screwdriver and a Lonovo laptop computer were reported taken from an Allstate Insurance office after thieves kicked in the door of the duplex office building. The thieves then kicked open an inner door to get access to Abraham and Associates, where they took a laptop computer. The case remains under investigation.
In other cases:
• A Vicksburg man told police he was shot in the leg Monday about 6:35 p.m. during an assault behind a business in the 2900 block of Clay Street, Edwards said.
He said the man drove himself to Merit Health River Region after the incident. The case remains under investigation.
• A Pioneer car radio was reported taken about 6:38 a.m. Tuesday from a 1998 Ford F-150 parked at Riverwalk Casino, 1046 Warrenton Road.
• A counterfeit $10 bill was reported passed about 10:02 a.m. Monday at the Riverwalk Casino.
• A 9 mm Jimenez handgun was reported taken about 12:56 p.m. Tuesday from a 2003 Ford F-150 parked in the 300 block of Northridge Drive.
• An iPhone was reported taken about 1:50 p.m. Tuesday from a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu parked at City Front.
• A checkbook was reported taken about 9:49 a.m. Tuesday from a 2002 Dodge Ram parked at the Waterview Casino, 3990 Washington Street.
• A total of $40 in change was reported taken about 7:57 a.m. Tuesday from a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder parked in the 1300 block of Jackson Avenue.
• Coleman Cain McKay, 36, was arrested Tuesday in the 3400 block of Pemberton Boulevard on a charge of shoplifting. He also had two outstanding grand jury warrants.
• A .45-caliber Ruger handgun was reported taken about 9:30 p.m. Monday from a 2015 Toyota Carolla parked at the Anthony, 127 Country Club Drive.
