Pair charged with assault in stabbing

Two women will be charged with simple assault after an altercation ended with one of them being stabbed in the leg.

Vicksburg Police officers responded to the 1500 block of Ethel Street shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday to a report of a stabbing.

There, they found Monica Judge, 18, with a stab wound to her leg. Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said Judge and Adrianna Adger, 22, appeared to have been in a relationship, but VPD is still investigating what led to the stabbing.

Judge was taken to Merit Health River Region for medical attention, but not by an ambulance.

Judge and Adger will both be charged with simple assault Edwards said.

In other arrests:

• Erick Darden, 51, was arrested for DWI-third.

• Willis Vaughn, 28, was arrested on the 200 block of Meadow Street for the sale of cocaine.

• Olivia Wells, 30, was arrested on six capias warrants and a warrant for contempt of court.

• Paul Williams, 59, was arrested during a traffic stop on an outstanding warrant out of Hinds County for drug sale.

• Vergie Mitchell, 33, was arrested for a capias warrant and a warrant for contempt of court.

• Margaret Cook,51, was arrested for contempt of court.

• Samuel Edwards, 26, was arrested for a capias warrant during a traffic stop at Clay and Mission streets.

• Kelsey McKay-Taylor, 28, was arrested for shoplifting.

• Lillie Carter, 34, was arrested for petty larceny.

• Angela Maniel, 32, was arrested for two capias warrants.

• Willis Jordan, 57, was arrested on Washington Street for indecent exposure.

• Harvey Sanders, 52, was arrested for simple assault.

• Bernard Hodge, 25, was arrested for contempt of court of community service.

  Joshua Miles, 21, was arrested for bail bond jumping.

• Jarquez Wilson, 21, was arrested for a capias warrant.

• Ashton Allen, 19, was arrested for two contempt of courts.

• Joseph Dobbs, 24, was arrested for three capias warrants.
