The Warren County Sheriff’s office arrested Justin C. Harris on charges related to sexual battery of a child under the age of 14 Monday.

Harris, 26, who lives on Gibson Road, was arrested Monday around 1:30 p.m. and is charged with one count of statutory rape of a child under the age of 14 and three counts of sexual battery of a child under the age of 14, sheriff Martin Pace said.

“This investigation began last week when sheriff’s investigators received information of a possible sexual abuse of a child,” Pace said.

Harris had his initial appearance in the county courtroom of Judge John Price Monday and was denied bond. He is currently being held in a jail outside of Warren County, Pace said.

All four charges stem from assaults on the same victim, Pace said.

“Obviously I cannot do or say anything that would identify the child other than to say the child is the child of an acquaintance of the subject,” Pace said.
