Library patrons will be able to bring cookies and recipes to swap with others while enjoying fellowship with other bakers.

The event has been heavily inspired by other libraries, according to Vicksburg Public Library Director Katrina Stokes.

“Other libraries have been doing cookie swaps and we wanted to involve Vicksburg in the tradition,” said Stokes. “ I went to a cookie swap in Flowood and they have been doing it for years and it was really nice. I enjoyed it.”

Participants are asked to bring two-dozen cookies to the event and the recipe for the cookies. One dozen will be shared and the other dozen will be swapped with another baker.

“The cookie swap is something fun to do and is a great free event for the community,” said Stokes. “ It gives people a chance to showcase their baking skills and also view the cookbook collection we have in the library.”

Interested participants of the cookie swap, of all ages, are encouraged to pre register for the event.

Bakers can register by simply calling the library at 601-636-6411 or visit the library, located at 700 Veto Street.
