Vikings beat Brookhaven for ninth win in a row

Warren Central’s boys’ basketball team remained hot Friday night, as four players scored in double figures in a 70-58 victory over Brookhaven.

Chris Early scored 19 points to lead the Vikings (10-2), who won their ninth consecutive game. Jabari Bowman added 14 points, while Chavis Smith and Jalen Allen scored 10 apiece. Jacques Jones had seven points. The Vikings led 36-19 at halftimes and were not challenged after that, despite being outscored in the second half.

Warren Central will play in the Jackson Public Schools Tournament Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Lanier High School, against Madison Central.

Warren Central’s girls team will play Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. against Forest Hill or Terry, at Murrah High School.

The Lady Vikes (10-3) are heading into the JPS Tournament on a two-game losing streak, after losing to Brookhaven 41-36 on Friday.
