Services for Alfred George “Buddy” Jones Sr. will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at Mount Calvary M.B. Church, 1350 East Avenue, with the Rev. Mincer Minor Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Family Hour will be at the church today from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and visitation will be Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

Alfred died Dec. 27, 2017, at St. Dominic’s Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Jones; his children, Alfred G. Jones Jr. and Shelia Rose Jones, Jackson; Keith Brown (Miriam) of Killeen, Texas; Eric Britton, Baton Rouge, La.; Garnette Edwards, Vicksburg, Tiffany Jones and Cynthia Jones of Frisco, Texas; two sisters, Rose Jones Steele (George) Meridianville, Ala.; Barbara Jones Tolliver (Charlie), Vicksburg; 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; uncles; aunts; and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorials be made to Vicksburg Family Development Services Playgroup, 1205 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, MS.
