A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bond accused of molesting an 8-year-old child.
Vicksburg Police Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said Judge Toni Terrett set the bond for Jerrell Donnell Oliver, 25, 305 Jefferson St., at an initial appearance in Municipal Court Friday.
Oliver is accused of fondling the child.
The arrest followed an investigation that began Dec. 23 when officers were called to Merit Health River Region about a sexual assault on a child.
According to police, the child’s mother said the child told her Oliver had fondled him, and she took him to the hospital to be examined. Oliver also faces a charge of simple assault, and the Mississippi Department of Corrections has placed a hold on him for probation violation.

Ross turned himself in to investigator Stacy Rollinson about 8 a.m. Wednesday, ending a search for him that began Jan. 4 and included several Mississippi counties.
The arrests were result on an investigation after a tip that two children were being sexually abused at a home in Warren County.
