Dattie Mae Hughes passed away Wednesday January 17, 2018 at her home surrounded by her children.

Ms. Hughes was born Jan. 8, 1924, in Ackerman, MS and moved to Vicksburg at an early age. She was retired from Sears. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buster and Ester Buford, a daughter, Ruby Hughes, a sister, Elizabeth Hoben, and brothers, Carter Buford, Tab Buford, and Buster Buford.

She is survived by a brother, Pete Buford, daughters Dedra Henley (Robert), Dattie Marie Hughes, and Darlene Hughes; sons Junior Hughes and Sammie Hughes, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 3 PM Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Riles Funeral Home with Rev. Kent Campbell officiating.

Visitation will be from 1 PM until the hour of service.
