The lingering effects of this week’s winter weather gave Vicksburg High’s basketball team a bit of a break.

VHS’ girls and boys games at Ridgeland, scheduled for Thursday, will instead be played Monday night after both schools were closed because of icy roads. The girls’ game will be played at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30.

It’s the second time the games have been postponed. They were originally supposed to be played on Jan. 12. The latest postponement will give the Gators and Missy Gators some relief, however. They were set to play three games in three days, but now will only have to play on back-to-back days.

Vicksburg will play at Callaway on Friday night, and then in the Red Carpet Basketball Classic on Saturday. The Missy Gators face Forest Hill at 1 p.m. Saturday, while the boys take on Port Gibson at 2:30. The Red Carpet Classic is at Warren Central.
