Andrew “Mack” Thomas

Funeral services for Andrew “Mack” Thomas will be Saturday, Feb. 3, at the House of Peace Worship Church at 11a.m. with Pastor Barrett Lewis officiating; interment will follow at the Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

There will be a visitation hour from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at the funeral home.

Andrew Thomas passed away Friday, Jan. 26, at Merit Health River Region following a brief illness. He was 68.

He was a custodian at Hinds Community College and was a member of the Holy Hill M.B. Church, where  he was a deacon of the church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sallie Thomas Sr.; his brothers, Roosevelt Thomas Sr., Prince Thomas, Walter Thomas and Robert Thomas Jr.; his sister, Mary Peoples, Bobbie Lee Kinnard, Willie Ann Ford, Mildred Estelle and Fannie Funches.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Thomas of Vicksburg; his sons, Lemund Mack of Jackson; Larry Klein Jr. and James Klein Sr., both of Arlington, Texas; his daughters, Jessica Thomas of Atlanta, Ga.; Andcia Thomas of St. Charles, Mo., and Chasity Blue Cason of Arlington, Texas; his sisters, Selena Funches of Vicksburg and Flora Miller of East St. Louis, Mo.; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
