Funeral services for Bobbie Lee Maxey will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at Greater Grove M.B. Church. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

Mrs. Maxey died Feb. 9, 2018, at her home. She was 89.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Josephine Gilland; brothers, Leon Johnson, and Alfred McGee; sisters, Helen McGee, and Hazel McGee; grandchildren, Derrick Maxey, and Celeste Coney.

Survivors include her seven sons, Clarence Maxey Sr., Gerald Maxey, Charles Maxey, Michael Maxey, all of Vicksburg, Leroy Maxey, Biloxi, Ernest Maxey, Atlanta, Ga., James Maxey, Shreveport, La.; Joseph Hunt, whom she reared; two daughters, Zeita Maxey and Ruby Maxey Hicks, both of Vicksburg; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 32 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces; nephews; other family members and friends.
