Clear Creek Ladies kickoff

The Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association will hold its 2018 season kickoff and registration on Feb. 24, at the Clear Creek Golf Course clubhouse. Registration begins at 10 a.m. The CCLGA is open to all lady golfers of all skill levels.

Run Thru History

Registration is now open for the 39th annual Run Thru History, a 10-kilometer run and 5-kilometer race walk in the Vicksburg National Military Park. The race is scheduled for March 3 at 8 a.m.
The entry fee is $25 for the run and walk. The children’s 1-mile fun run that follows those events is free. Registration is available online at runthruhistory.org, or at the Purks YMCA. Corporate and civic teams are also welcome.

In addition to the running events, this year’s Run Thru History will include a historical re-enactment and a post-race bus tour of the VNMP.

Zeke West Bass Tournament

The 10th Annual Zeke West Team Bass Tournament is scheduled for March 3 at Lake Bruin State Park, from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The registration fee is $100 per boat, with an optional big bass entry fee of $10 per person. First place is a guaranteed $1,500 prize, and additional prizes will be paid for second through fifth places based on the number of entries. All fishermen will be fed after the tournament and door prizes awarded. Fishermen are required to have live wells and running lights inspected.

VWAA registration

Registration is now open for the Vicksburg Warren Athletic Association’s 2018 spring baseball season. The league is for players ages 4-15, with leagues for different age groups. The registration fee is $75 per person, with a $10 family discount for each additional child, and the deadline is Feb. 14.

Red Carpet scholarship

Applications are now being accepted for the Red Carpet Bowl scholarship awards. The $500 scholarships are available to students at each of Warren County’s four high schools — Warren Central, Vicksburg High, St. Aloysius and Porter’s Chapel Academy — and will be awarded in the spring. To apply, students must fill out an application and write a 500-word essay.

The deadline to apply is March 1.
