Dinah Vivian Nuttall McComas, age 65, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, at home surrounded by family.

Family and friends were Dinah’s passion and delight. Her smile and laugh were contagious and brightened every room she entered. She served her community for many years as a Boy Scout leader. Her career spanned 38 years at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Costal and Hydraulic Laboratory, where she worked with engineers across the country to address hydraulic issues.

She was preceded in death by parents, Vivian and Clifford Nuttall.

She is survived by her spouse, Richard McComas; and two children and their spouses, Richie and Sarah McComas and Bobby and Catherine McComas. She leaves her grandchildren, Vivian, David and Kitson.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 23, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Vicksburg, with funeral service to immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to be made to Jacobs Ladder, 1017 Harrison St., Vicksburg, MS 39180 or American Cancer Society.
