A Warren Central High School student was arrested and removed from the campus Tuesday after he reportedly made verbal threats to harm some people at the school, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

He said sheriff’s investigators were called to the school soon after the threats were made and took the teen into custody. He was taken to the Warren County Youth Detention Center.

Pace said no weapon was involved, and the case remains under investigation by his office and Vicksburg Warren School District campus police.

“With all that has happened over the past few weeks, young people need to be very careful how they express themselves,” Pace said. “Certain things they say and the way they say it may be interpreted by someone as a threat, and we will take threats very seriously and they will not be tolerated.”
