Donna Marie Braxton Miller was born April 2, 1954, in Vicksburg.
She peacefully completed this earthly journey on Wednesday, March 7, 2018.
Mrs. Miller graduated from Rolling Fork High School in 1972 and later completed classes at Hinds Community College in Raymond.
She retired as an optician with the Wal-Mart Vision Center in Thibodaux, La.
She was a talented singer and artist who shared an infectious joy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Luther Edward “Boop” Braxton of Vicksburg.
She is survived by her mother, Imogene “Jean” Braxton of Vicksburg; her husband, Melvin Miller of Thibodaux, La.; three children and two step children, Gena Alford Adcock (Adelbert) of Grenada, Justin Doyle Alford (Kristi) of Houma, La., Jill Marie Alford Dufresne (Jerett) of Central Point, Ore., Amber Miller Camarillo (Joseph) of Tomball, Texas, and Allison Miller Knight (Brandon) of Thibodaux, La.; one sister, Carol Braxton Tatum (Kenneth) of Valley Park; eleven adored grandchildren, Braxton and Braylon Adcock, Jack, Remi and Lamri Alford, Jed Dufresne, Austin, Brayson and Aaron Camarillo, Isaac Ward and Ethan Knight; her mother-in-law, Gloria Miller of Springdale, Ark.; and many nieces; nephews; in-laws; cousins; and friends.
Services honoring the life of Mrs. Donna Miller are being arranged by Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m., with a service on Saturday at 11 am. All services will be held at First Pentecostal Church of Vicksburg, 6541 Paxton Road. Officiating ministers will be the Rev. Ronnie Melancon of Thibodaux, La., the Rev. D.W. Tipton of Vicksburg and the Rev. Adelbert Adcock of Grenada. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 326 Lovers Lane.
