Vote FOR school bond

Published 8:13 pm Saturday, March 24, 2018

watershed moment in Vicksburg’s future will be here Tuesday when our community has the opportunity to decide the direction we want to follow for education and economic development.

Voters will have the chance to go to the polls Tuesday in a special school bond initiative proposed by the Vicksburg Warren School District and cast a ballot for or against improving facilities.

It has been two generations since such a proposal was voted upon in our community. Over that 50-year period, facilities in much of the school district have deteriorated, become unsafe and are also outdated for use with 21st century technology.

In order for our children to compete in the future for jobs and for our community to attract economic development and grow, our educational facilities must be compatible with current and future technology. This $83 million school bond initiative will bring our schools into the 21st century.

We ask that you go to the designated high school of your voting district between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday and vote FOR for the school bond.
