The Outlets of Vicksburg will soon have one fewer tenant.

Mall general manager Jerry Chambers has confirmed the G.H. Bass & Co. store in the mall will be closing at the end of May. The closing of the Bass store will leave the outlet mall with only 11 open stores. The max capacity for the mall is 27 stores.

“They told us a while back that they will be closing at the end of May,” Chambers said. “As long as there are stores out here, we will continue to be open. I haven’t heard anything from their corporate office and I haven’t heard anything from my corporate office. The manager of the store has confirmed they will be closing.”

The closing of the Bass store follows Rue21 and West Point, which closed their stores at the mall over the last year. The mall is owned by Craig Realty Group, which is based in California and also owns malls in Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Utah and Wisconsin.

“Everybody else has extended their lease agreements and as far as we know, nothing else is closing at this time,” Chambers said. “I will have a meeting with them (Craig Realty Group) on Wednesday as far as updates on any leasing issues. It is done completely through California.”
