Storm causes little damage in Warren County

Warren County escaped serious damage Friday night and Saturday morning when a line of strong thunderstorms preceding a cold front passed through the area.

“We came through this well,” Warren County Emergency Management director John Elfer said. “When I heard what was coming, I expected the worst.”

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said trees were reported down in several areas of the county, but city road crews were able to get the roads cleared by late Saturday morning, and no flooded roads were reported.

The only serious incident was off Gibson Road, where a tree fell across a house on Strothers Road. Pace said there were no injuries in the incident.

Entergy customer service representative Shelia McKinnis said 20 outages were reported during the storm, most of those in an area off Old Highway 27. The outages were expected to be restored Saturday.
