Gary Dale Lick Sr., 67, died Saturday, April 21, 2018, in Vicksburg.

Gary was born in Battle Creek, Mich., to Terrell and Ava Lick on Nov. 17, 1950.

Gary was a self-made man who could do anything he set his mind to, never met a stranger, loved to fish and hunt in Colorado and had a passion for animal rescue.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Melissa Madura (Robert); and son, Gary Jr. (Angela); his much adored granddaughters, Lauren Victoria and Logan Elizabeth Marshall; sisters, Jane Muirhead (Dick) and Regina Lindsey; brothers, James Lick (Theresa), Ralph Lick (Kim), Paul Lick and Ronnie Lick; and close cousins, Carolyn Miller (Lewis), Teresa Sullivan (Donnie) and Pam Harris.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 48 years, Nina Gayle; sisters-in-law, Pam Lick and Rita Hill; and cousins, Stacey Miler Fewell, Allen “Bubba” Bland and Denny Bland.

Graveside service will be at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery Friday, April 27, at 1 p.m. with Pastor TJ Tennison officiating.

Reception will follow at Crossway Church, 1825 Highway 61 South, Vicksburg.

Pallbearers will be Gary Lick Jr., Robert Madura, Ed Pace, Joel Miller, Jacob Lindsey and Martin Hogan.

Honorary pallbearer will be Milton Farr.
