A 12-member jury was unable to reach a verdict in the trial of a Vicksburg man charged with possession of a semiautomatic weapon by a convicted felon and two counts of sale of a controlled substance.
Circuit Judge M. James Chaney declared a mistrial in the case of Larry Earl Johnson after the foreman of the jury said in open court the jury was “hopelessly deadlocked” and no juror was willing to change their mind, according to court records.
Johnson was one of four people arrested Feb. 17, 2017, during a drug raid on a home at 712 Speed St. conducted by Vicksburg police and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
