SUV taken from home; recovered

A 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer was reported taken from a home in the 100 block of Catherine Drive about 3:57 p.m. Thursday, Vicksburg police Sgt. Johnny Edwards said. The car’s owner said he walked back into his home leaving the keys in the SUV, and when he returned outside the SUV was missing.

The vehicle was later recovered in the 4000 block of U.S. 61 South. No arrests have been made.

In another case, an individual told police Thursday their identity was used to get a department store credit card used to buy $701 in merchandise.

In other cases:

• A counterfeit $20 bill was passed Thursday at Lady Luck Casino, 1380 Warrenton Road.

• Shots were reported fired about 8:09 p.m. Thursday in the area of North Washington Street and Chickasaw Road.

Shots were reported fired about 9:03 p.m. Thursday in the area of Dot and Marcus streets.

• Police made the following arrests Thursday:

• Bryan Michael Barrentine, 33, 121 Chandler Cove, was arrested about 1:34 a.m. in the 4400 block of Clay Street on three counts of contempt of court.

• Johnathan Rashard Thornton, 19 1303 Harris St., was arrested about 2:50 a.m. at Speed and Cherry streets on a charge of disorderly conduct.

• Robert Lee Devoils, 21, 129 Second Third St., Rolling Fork, was arrested about 3:02 a.m. at Military Avenue and Dot Street on a charge of contempt of court.

• Warrants were served on Bettye Jean Robertson, 45, 705 Hall Road.

• Veronica Lashell-Epps Lee, 31, 1607 Twin Oaks, Clinton, was arrested about 9:17 a.m. at the Vicksburg Police Department on a charge of contempt of court.

•Jeremy Terrell Fields, 32, 1170 Doorsheir Road, Southaven, was arrested about 2:28p.m. at the police department on three counts of contempt of court.

• Carlos Lamar Armstead, 39, 912 China St., Apt. 3, was arrested about 3:22 p.m. in the 2500 block of Halls Ferry Road on a charge of public drunkenness.

• Atmon Hackett Jr., 142 Dabney St., was arrested about 7:25 p.m. in the 700 block of Dabney Street on a charge of simple assault.

• Anthony Jermaine Johnson, 37, was arrested about 8:49 p.m. in the 3900 block of Washington Street on a charge of trespassing.

Police responded to the following calls:

• 6:10 p.m., 2900 block of Clay Street, welfare concern.

• 1:12 a.m., 1300 block of China Street, simple assault — bodily injury.

• 2:10 a.m. 1300 block of China Street, simple assault — bodily injury.

• 9:10 a.m., 1300 block of Randolph Street, malicious mischief.

• 10:29 a.m., 100 block of Elizabeth Circle, malicious mischief.
