Eugenia Marsalis Hynum died Monday, May 14, 2018, at Brandon Court Nursing Home in Brandon. She was 76.

Mrs. Hynum was born in Claiborne County and lived most of her life in the Port Gibson and Vicksburg areas.

She was a member of the Learned Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeremy Hynum; her granddaughter, Sarah Hynum; and her brother, James Marsalis Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Julie Burrough of Tenn.; her sons, Jeff (Nancy) Hynum of Richland, Jason (Rhonda) Hynum of Brandon, Jonathan (Christine) Hynum and Jonah Hynum, both of Pearl; her sister, Alice Seals of Texas; her brothers, Watson Marsalis of Learned and Charles Marsalis of Port Gibson; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg with the Rev. William Perry officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
