Mississippi State freshman  Anderson Peters cemented his spot in Bulldogs history at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon. The Grenada native won the javelin throw after scoring his collegiate-personal-best-throw with a mark of 82.82 meters, which also set a meet-record. His teammate, Nicolas Quijera, finished in second place, giving the Bulldogs the first top finishes in the javelin throw at the NCAA Championships since North Carolina in 2007.

Meanwhile, Ole Miss senior Robert Domanic advanced to the finals in the 1500-meter race. Domanic came in second place to defending NCAA champion Josh Kerr of New Mexico with a time of 3:47:61 compared to Kerr’s 3:47.47. Domanic will run again Friday.
