To the editor:

On May 12, the Letter Carriers, along with other employees of the Vicksburg Post Office, with the cooperation from the United States Postal Service, conducted their annual food drive. We also received help from United Way.

This was the fourth year the Letter Carriers of Vicksburg have completed the food drive in honor of Kimmy Melton, the daughter o f Amy and Eddie Melton.

Thank you to Eddie and Amy Melton and their volunteers for collecting food from the schools and also helping on May 12. Thank you to Walmart and Kroger for supplying the banana boxes to put our collections in.

All of your acts of kindness are highly and greatly appreciated.

Also, special thanks to Rural Carrier Debra Montgomery and USPS retirees Charlie Martin and Elijah Johnson for your help. The Food Drive was a success. A total of 26,792 pounds of non-perishable foods was collected and distributed to agencies in Vicksburg and Warren County.

Thank you so much Vicksburg and Warren County for your generosity. May all the giving and support continue.
